Federal Agencies Play a Critical Role in Environmental Protection and Resources Management

Federal land is managed for many important purposes, including conservation, natural resources use and management, public access and outdoor recreation, renewable energy, and federal facilities development. The federal government owns almost 48 percent of California’s total land, or nearly 48 million acres. Ascent has worked in close partnership with the US Forest Service, National Park Service, BLM, Bureau of Reclamation, USFWS, and other agencies on many critical natural resources management and environmental compliance efforts.
