Pamela Brillante

I grew up as a “city” kid, and it wasn’t until I spent a weekend at Sly Park, an outdoor education center, that I was introduced to the outdoors. I have loved discovering the natural world ever since! My work experiences have included trapping wolves in the Boundary Waters, chasing frogs inhabiting leaf litter in the Costa Rican jungle, and searching for songbird nests on Catalina Island. As a biologist with Ascent, I support a wide variety of projects through my expertise as a wildlife biologist, botanist, and wetland ecologist. I prepare environmental permits and natural resources analyses for environmental documents, as well as lead and coordinate large-scale field efforts.

I am driven by trying to figure out how people can have equitable opportunities to thrive in their communities while also respecting, protecting, and appreciating the natural world in which they live. I think we should all be stewards of the land where we live and recreate, and we should learn to live sustainably and responsibly with nature. I love to travel off the beaten path, eat good food, and spend as much time as possible outdoors backpacking, hiking, paddling, and rock climbing.
