When I was a kid, I was extremely passionate about the environment and animals, and my friends gave me the nickname “Hippie.” At UC San Diego, I took a class in urban planning, which I hadn’t known was a college major, let alone a profession. I was amazed that I could work in a profession that helped both people and the environment. I ended up majoring in Urban Planning with a minor in Ethnic Studies. Fun fact about me: I was a tour guide at UCSD for all four years I was there, and one of my favorite moments in college was doing a service project in Honduras over spring break. I still love to travel, and one of my favorite activities to do with my family is traveling to new places.
I love working with different communities and getting to know what makes them unique. I have spent the last few years working on community planning projects throughout California, namely housing element updates. In my role at Ascent, I am supporting the team as we head into the new housing cycle. I’m also looking forward to working on other types of planning projects and getting to know the people here.
