As a licensed architect and urban designer, I am passionate about enhancing the urban built environment and creating more sustainable, multimodal cities. I see design as a method of storytelling—about where communities are now, where they have been, and where they would like to go in the future. I believe that good urban design, with varied housing, transportation, and employment opportunities, can provide a robust support system for individuals throughout the course of their lives. I am particularly passionate about bikes as a form of transportation as well as recreation. An interconnected urban to rural bike system can provide for healthier and more interconnected communities. I saw this firsthand when I rode my bike from New York City to Montreal using a mixture of greenways, trails, and road-based bike networks. In my free time, I don’t just ride bikes—I also like to rock climb, create with a sewing machine and woodworking tools, and play games with my pet cockatiel, Frankie.
