Michael Pero

As a young adult, I spent several years as a seasonal employee in the tourism industry throughout the western United States so I could travel and enjoy as much of the great outdoors as possible. My experiences exploring rivers, mountains, deserts, forests, and more fostered a deep appreciation for the environments we live in and depend on as humans. Since then, I have been fortunate to develop a career focused on natural resources which allows me to stay immersed in issues I care about and work with great people. My experiences include plant identification, small mammal trapping, experimental design and analysis, regulatory compliance, and more.

I enjoy spending my free time searching for plants and wildlife, foraging for mushrooms, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, and participating in community events.
