The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation is an independent, self-governed, and federally recognized Native American tribal nation, located in the Capay Valley in northwestern Yolo County. Ascent completed a Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Report for the Tribe to better understand its vulnerability to climate-related hazards facing the community, including increased temperatures and extreme heat, drought, flooding, and wildfire. Informed by the results of the vulnerability assessment, Ascent developed a Climate Change Adaptation Plan to provide the Tribe with a comprehensive roadmap in preparing for and adapting to the impacts of climate change. The plan includes four overarching adaptation goals, which are further broken down into strategies, and then detailed actions for each strategy that identify the policies, projects, programs, or other activities the Tribe can implement to build resilience.
