The Ventura County Energy Roadmap consists of revisions and updates to the energy-related programs that were approved as part of the Ventura County 2040 General Plan. These programs were either directed by the Board of Supervisors, related to 2040 General Plan implementation, or required to maintain compliance with state legislation or to align with state priorities and policy direction. Ascent has supported the County with completing a variety of these programs.
- Renewable Energy Siting Assessment: Ascent conducted an assessment that identifies undeveloped and underutilized sites in the county that have high potential for ground-mounted solar renewable energy, wind, and grid-scale battery storage projects.
- Industrial Building Energy Benchmarking: Ascent assessed the feasibility of adopting a building energy saving ordinance for industrial buildings in the unincorporated county.
- Cool Roof Ordinance Evaluation: Ascent prepared a feasibility assessment evaluating the adoption of a cool roof ordinance for all residential and nonresidential buildings in the unincorporated county.
- All-Electric Buildings Reach Code: Ascent conducted a feasibility study and prepared an ordinance for an all-electric reach code for new construction in the unincorporated county.
