I have spent most of my life pursuing outdoor activities. As a joke I tell people that I am a professional hiker. I see being an environmental consultant as a natural extension of my core interests in the natural world. I started on this professional path as a horticulturist at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum and the California Botanic Garden. I took that early knowledge and have used it as a biological consultant since 2009. Overall, I specialize in arboriculture, general biology, restoration, and wildfire planning. At Ascent, I continue my professional path to applying my diversified background to assist our clients in navigating complex project issues. I greatly enjoy serving my clients as a proactive resource to their project needs.
In my off time, I like to hang out with my wife, daughter, two cats, two Labradors, and one chicken. We enjoy the outdoors, traveling, thrift store shopping, cooking, and trying new restaurants. I also enjoy mountain biking, peak bagging, hiking, collecting rare books, listening to music, studying history, golfing, and watching the Buffalo Bills.
