Natalie Kataoka

With climate change as a constant presence in my life, I have always been a steward of the environment. I also thoroughly enjoy learning about how ecosystems and organisms function, using data analysis to explain observations. In addition, environmental justice is important to my sense of purpose, helping communities plan for climate change and seeing the cities I grew up around take better care of their people and the planet. I am thrilled to apply my passion for addressing climate change in my professional life, calculating greenhouse gas emissions and contributing my research and writing skills to new policies and plans.

My academic and professional interests are greatly intertwined with how I like to be an active member of my community. I always find myself volunteering to pull invasive weeds and helping out at food pantries. For fun I like to paint and do some sort of physical activity, and when the opportunity arises, go fishing!
