Matthew Gelbman, AICP

I’m a planner, public engagement specialist, and project manager. I wear a lot of hats and I like it that way.

As a planner, I get to be creative and solve problems, guide clients through the planning process, and address the diverse challenges of California’s communities. I enjoy the comprehensive and interdisciplinary nature of planning and merging analysis with creativity. As a public engagement specialist, I work with people who care about the future of their community, help translate technical information into plain language, and strive to make a deliberate effort to create inclusive, accessible, and fun opportunities for people to participate. As a project manager, I help lead teams to complete projects successfully. 🙂

Outside of work, I’m usually making a mess in my kitchen or spending time with my family. My favorite color is green, my favorite animal is a pelican, and my favorite food is chocolate chip cookies.
