Jazmin Amini

Living in Barcelona for a year not only fueled my love for tapas and vermouth, but also ignited my passion for transportation planning and policy. I was fascinated by the city’s expansive metro system, sprawling bike lanes, and pedestrian-friendly streets, and I’m thrilled to bring that same energy to my work. I have particular interest in complete streets that prioritize safety and accessibility, improving sustainable transportation options to reduce vehicle miles traveled, and advocating for equitable transportation policies.

At Ascent, I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues across practice groups. My favorite projects allow me to think critically and work with a fun, supportive team. It is especially rewarding to find creative solutions to complex challenges that benefit our diverse communities.

When I’m not delving into transportation studies, you can find me in the hot yoga studio, bopping along at a live show, or soaking up the sun at the beach with friends. Being from San Diego, I feel like I’m breaking some kind of unspoken rule by not surfing, so I’m determined to learn and catch a wave soon!
