Grace Mannell

I’ve had a varied and exciting career path driven by my desire to make the world a better place, especially regarding biodiversity loss and wildfire prevention. My career started in terrestrial biology in 2011, and since 2017, I have refined my specialty in the broad field of wildfire resilience and fuels reduction. Over the years, I’ve gained boots-on-the-ground experience with compliance monitoring, project implementation, and project management. My role at Ascent allows me to combine my wildlife biology experience, passion for biodiversity and wildfire prevention, highly organized nature, and skill for maintaining interpersonal balance. I specialize in regulatory permitting and biological resource analyses for wildfire resilience and fuels reduction projects. I support and manage a variety of projects, including those seeking CEQA coverage through the CalVTP EIR. I provide client support, project coordination, biological resource analyses, and biological surveys (protocol-level and focused) for terrestrial wildlife and habitats throughout California. I also can support clients seeking biological compliance monitoring, environmental training, and monitoring.

Outside of work, I enjoy noncompetitive birding, dancing, wine tasting, hiking, yoga, and taking my dog, Beau, on adventures—the best days involve all of the above!
