I enjoy learning about most things and making connections with what I learn. That’s actually what got me interested in HR. I was a restaurant manager training a new HR hire and that connection got me thinking about different ways I could improve each employee’s experience. Eventually, I joined her team.
Now at Ascent, I primarily engage in the mental acrobatics of compliance and payroll. While they’re probably not very interesting to most people, I enjoy exploring HR rabbit holes so we can help navigate the ever-changing landscape.
Besides that, I also enjoy karaoke, improv (it’s been a while), taking cooking classes when I travel, and trying to improve my Lao, Tagalog, and Japanese.
