My background as a biologist began at Humboldt State University, where I learned about the flora and fauna of California and studied marine mammal and seabird ecology. While my work now focuses primarily on terrestrial wildlife species, I carry the lessons I learned regarding natural history, thoughtful observation, and sound application of the scientific method and data analysis into my work every day. At Ascent, I specialize in preparing accurate, thorough, and defensible natural resources analyses for environmental documents supporting many projects, including vegetation management projects and long-range development plans. I enjoy working on projects for large countywide or statewide efforts, especially those with challenging biological resources questions. I am also a project manager and bring my expertise in wildlife biology to projects with substantial biological resources elements.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring California and Nevada with my husband and dog, especially the eastern Sierra, Modoc Plateau, and Great Basin; identifying native plants; rockhounding; and knitting.
